Russian PM says e-economy lies outside governments’ influence
BRUSSELS, Oct 19 (PRIME) -- The digital economy is beyond the collective influence of states, the countries should deal with these matters jointly, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday at the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).
“On the ASEM floor we cherish interdependence and interconnectedness. Russia plays here a special role because of its territory. I mean transport, improvement of those opportunities that our geography presents. Of course, such interconnectedness is multi-faceted, including the matter of digital modification,” Medvedev said.
“We develop digital economy and have special programs…But digital economy is today beyond the framework of collective influence of states, which causes problems for cybersecurity and others. We should jointly tackle it.”
The ASEM is an intergovernmental process established in 1996 to foster dialogue and cooperation between Asia and Europe.
